Ready, Set, Go. Time to get serious about weight loss

It’s time to take the rhetorical question I ask myself every morning, “When am I going to start working on this whole weight problem?” and turn it into a serious goal. I’ve started this blog to both get support and hold myself accountable.

Some of you might know me or have found my from my wedding/bridesmaids blog, three times a bridesmaid.  For those of you not familiar with that blog, I’m getting married in the Fall of2010. I started that blog after realizing I was about to be a bridesmaid for the third time and was still single, but that’s another story, head over to that blog if you want to read more.

I’ve slowly been gaining weight since meeting my husband to be. And, while shifting through wedding sites and looking at pictures of smiling brides, I soon realized if I didn’t do something soon I was about to be waddling down the aisle, puffing on a cigarette the whole way most likely. Hence, my recommitment to my health and weight.

I’ve done this before. I was a fat kid, and a large teenager. In college, I got serious about my health and went on a serious weight loss kick. I kept the weight off for the most part until I met my fiance and am back to the part of being a beached whale on the big day.

From the title of my blog, you’ve probably guessed it, I’ve decided to try the Weight Watchers program. I know a lot of people who’ve had success with it, and will be attending my first meeting next week.

I’ll be posting an update about the program and my personal weight loss successes and disappointments each week after my Weight Watchers meeting.

Thanks Carole. I thought about doing it online, but think I might do better going to a meeting, but I’m also a little scared for my first meeting. I guess my weigh-in will be Friday each morning. I’ll check out the other lady’s blogs and love that you found me.

Jamie, I do the same thing, I watch him and think my portions are fine as well. I’m think that’s what we’re going to do, go on separate diets. If he wants to eat what I’m having fine, but I’m just going to start cooking what I want to have to keep on track.

I need to lose weight and I am considering doing the WW program. I have heard good things about it.

As for Curves, I was a member at the last place I lived and it works. I wish there was one around here.

I’ve done just about all of them. I liked Weight Watchers as I got down to my lowest weight but then I went on vacation and it was all over
